Cruising On The River 2009

It’s getting close to that time again when the River City Bad Boyz host their annual Cruising On The River – Open Car Show on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River in Vidalia, LA.

Vidalia,  Ferriday and Natchez, MS will be a buzz with Classics, Muscle Cars and Hot Rods.  This show has taken place every Mother’s Day weekend since 2002 and has become bigger and better every year.

Your MC for the event is none other than Bobby Derrick aka “Doc Big Love” from 107.1 The River.  From what I hear Doc along with Desiree Smith will be doing Doc Big Love’s Morning Medicine Show right there at the event.

This year some lucky person will win $1000 in cold hard cash and one of the ladies will win a beautiful Diamond Tennis Bracelet.  These grand prizes have been traditional since this show began in 2002.

In the last couple of years attendance at this show has slightly declined.  This was mainly contributed to fuel prices and the economy in general.  But here at Mafia we wish RCBB the best and we look forward to a great show.

The event starts Friday, May 9th and concludes Saturday, May 10th.  I would provide a link to the RCBB website but it appears to have not been updated since last years show.  Here is COTR’s Motortopia page where you can download the Registration Form as well as get a schedule of events.

You can also check out M3’s review of this show here.

I will be there photographing and getting video that will be posted here on M3.  So stay tuned!

For anyone that comes up to me at the event and says “I Love MISS-LOU MOTOR MAFIA! will get a FREE 2008 Homeruns & Hotrods Event T-Shirt.  Sizes are limited.  Don’t know what I look like? Tuff! Just look for the car!
